Frequently Asked Questions

POP3 Email Setup - Besides checking you mail via the web interface, you may ALSO access your electronic mail via an email client. Use your browser's email program (e.g. outlook, Netscape messenger) or any email client (Eudora) to manage your email. These programs, email clients, have advanced features like folders, address books, filters, and more.  CDI fully supports Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express (support@cdiweb.net.)

1. Basics - Follow the instructions below for your browser or email client to change the email preferences. Enter your  username, password, reply-to-address, and the server name. 

2. POP3 and SMTP Server Settings - The POP3 server for (incoming) is: mail." your domain name" as mail.cdihost.net. The  SMTP (outgoing) service is mail.flocom.net. Abuse of this server for spam with be grounds for discontinue of services. (See No-Spam).

Your Email Software (click one): Netscape | Microsoft | AOL

Netscape Communicator - includes email client, Netscape Messenger.

1. From the menu bar, choose "Edit", then "Preferences".
2. Double-click "Mail and Groups", alter the "Identity" and "Mail Server" sections.
3. Add or Edit the incoming mail server (mail."your domain name" as mail.cdihost.net).
4. Enter your name and address normally in the "identity" section.

Microsoft Internet Explorer - includes email client, Outlook Express.

1. From the menu bar choose "Go", then "Mail"; and then Outlook Express will appear.
2. From the Outlook Express menu bar, choose "Tools", "Accounts", "Add", and then "Mail".
3. Follow their lead and provide the necessary information.

AOL - AOL users should use Microsoft Outlook Express, and it's mail program, to access the their mail. Or you can forward your account to your AOL address.
